Ector Junior High evacuated

Ector Junior High School was evacuated at 9:15 a.m. Friday morning because of a gas leak in the kitchen.

The students stood outside the school, accompanied by their teachers and ECISD police officers, while fire officials isolated the leak.

“They found a leak and they’re working to repair it. We should be back inside in a few minutes,” an Ector teacher said.

Officials gave the OK to return to the building at 9:30 a.m. and students were escorted back into the school.
