Paul ‘Pappy’ ‘Sandman’ Reed Douglas

GOLDSMITH Paul "Pappy" "Sandman" Reed Douglas passed away on October 1, 2008, at the age of 77.

He was the husband of the late Delia (Dee) Douglas for 29 years and resided in Odessa, Texas.

Survivors include two daughters, Tina Douglas Yerry and Anita Denise Daniel (Billy); three sons, Ray Strange (Kolenna), Roy Lee Strange (Chris) and Paul David Lovelace (Cindy); one brother, George Douglas Jr. (Buelah); and a sister, Jackie Hendricks Plumlee (Walt). Also, included are his 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as many cherished friends. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Deidre (Deedee) Woods.

Mr. Douglas was a cross-country truck driver who in later years owned his own company called Douglas Trucking. He was also a veteran of the Korean War. Some of his other avocations were collecting junk cars, pocketknives, flashlight and pens. He loved to travel and had numerous friends from coast to coast.

There will be a memorial service Sunday, October 6 at 1:30 p.m. at Goldsmith Church. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
