(Morris) Don Flowers

 ODESSA (Morris) Don Flowers died July 2, 2009, at Hospice House.

He was born in Levelland, Texas, December 24, 1938, to Opal and Ralph Flowers. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1957, attended Odessa College and the University of Texas at Austin. Don worked in banking for many years, but most recently had spent many years working for Cameron Measurement Systems; he had retired January 1, 2009.

Don was an active member of First United Methodist Church and the Cornerstone Sunday School Class. His favorite ministry was taking donuts every Saturday to Parks Methodist Retirement /Nursing Home and Sherwood Retirement Home.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Opal and Ralph Flowers and his brother, Larry.

Survivors include his wife, Julie Alden Flowers of Odessa; four sons, Maury Flowers of Maui, Hawaii, Jared Flowers and wife Michelle of Gilbert, Arizona; Josh Flowers of Sugarland, Texas, Seth Flowers and wife Shelby of Midland; step-son, Sean Burnett of Sugarland. Don also had four beloved grandchildren, Donovan, Addison and Samantha Flowers of Gilbert and Taylor of Midland. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Moselle Alden Ford of Amarillo and Pat Flowers of Odessa.

Honorary pallbearers include Alan Lowe, Lamar Cole, Herschell Atkinson, Thad Woodard, Clyde White, Kirk Clark, Eddie Baysden, Jerry Leahy, Mark Wiggins, Neil Smith, Ben Fuentes, Matt DeWitt, Bobby Halbert, Dennis Pervis, Jim Findley, and Bob Miller.

Very special thanks go to Dr. Gary Newsom and Lee Macmurdo, P.A. and their office staff for their kind and compassionate care of Don.

Memorial donations may be made to Sacramento Methodist Assembly, P.O. Box 8, Sacramento, New Mexico, 88347; First United Methodist Church, 415 N. Lee, Odessa, Texas, 79761; Mission Messiah, 1213 W. 2nd Street, Odessa, Texas, 79763; or the charity of your choice.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 7th at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Tamplen officiating.

Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday July 6th at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Services are entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
