>> ilovejolie86: "My condolences to the Dominguez family on the loss of their beloved family pet. I believe that this could have been easily prevented had the papers been served to him at his work (which is where most people are at 11am on a Monday!) Poor Suki was just trying to protect her home and her pups."Also, anyone with a dog should put up a Beware of Dog sign, even if the pet isn't known to be protective or aggressive. That way nobody can say they didn't have fair warning!"
>> tincup356: "What we have here is a complete failure to use common sense, The deputy could see the dog in the fenced yard, he should have called the contact number first, it is sad that he did not, he should be liable and if the dog were mine I would be filing a lawsuit. The county must be responsible for the actions of the officer, and not just blow this off because it was just a dog. the yard belonged to the dog , not the deputy, he should have been given that respect. People have dogs to guard their property, and inside a fence, that is that dogs ground, go inside and YOU are an intruder."
>> jaceal73: "That absolutely makes me sick too think a dog was killed. The sheriff officer was in the wrong here if you ask me. He apparantely knew how to reach Mr. Dominquez to serve him papers. He should of waited until later in the evening to reserve the papers when Mr. Dominguez was at home. A dog is used to protect your property and too me is a very smart move with all the break in that these thugs are doing now days. I believe that just because you have a badge and a gun you can not do whatever you please whenever you please. He should of not entered the yard when there was obvious signs of a dog living there. I would file a compaint with the sheriff office myself if they did unjustice by killing the dog. And in closing my step father was a police officer and they also carry mace and a baton. He could of used one of those to back off suki instead of killing her. Where is the justice in that?"
>> iluvodessa: "Fine then, let's take the deputy out of the picture and pretend this never happened for just a minute.
"How would you react if a strange child was in the raod, riding a bike, and for some reason this dog felt ‘threatened'. Let's say this dog got out and brutally attacked this child whether it was provoking the dog or not. Would everyone still be protecting this animal? Or would the community feel that a human life mattered more?
"You can reply what you want to from this point, but anything you say will fall on a deaf ear. To me, a human life ranks higher than ANY animal. No matter what! "If you cared so much for the animal, YOU should have taken better means to make sure the animal was secure, and would not be able to get loose and hurt anyone."
>> elkie1: "I'd say the dog owner has a good case and I'd be looking for a lawyer and asking the neighbors what they saw. And it's not like he was serving a warrant for an arrest! AND the papers still haven't been served. At very least the pd would probably settle out of court. I'd be claining which I'm sure is very true that it was hard on my kids to lose their family pet. I'd have to say at very least the officer made an error in judgement to even go in the yard especially when he could have been served at work or after work when the owner was home. The whole tragedy could have been avoided. And the fact that it was a rottie doesn't even play into it . . . there are more bites by mini poodles!"
