Kelly Moseley | Odessa

On June 14, my 4-year-old daughter had an accident at Chili's in Odessa when my husband ran over her toe with the door going into the restaurant.

Of course, it was cut very badly and needed liquid sutures from the emergency room at ORMC.

But there are some people I wanted to thank.

The staff at Chili's immediately began helping by getting napkins to hold over her foot. Dena (a manager) followed us to the car with ice and asked us to let her know how my daughter was.

Thanks to a man in the waiting room at ORMC (wearing a gray shirt and glasses). He saw us holding ice and napkins over my daughter's foot and he went to the bathroom and emerged with a huge stack of paper towels and said, "You could put this on it, and maybe it will help." I was overwhelmed by his simple act of kindness.

And then there was Rachael, an RN at ORMC who was very kind to my daughter and kept her distracted and laughing when she was crying and upset. She was even great at putting a panicking mother and father at ease. We need more nurses like her.

I hope that they all read this and know how much their kindness meant to us. We really appreciate them all!
