>> Daniel Hinkle, 15, of Odessa, bowled a single high game score of 289 during the United States Bowling Congress sanctioned Sherwood Lanes Junior-Major-Senior League Dec. 8, 2007.

Records indicate that this game Daniel bowled was the highest reported score by league secretaries-youth and adult for the month of December at Sherwood Lanes.

Daniel is a member of the Odessa Association of the USBC Youth, and is a ninth grader at Bowie Junior High School. Daniel has been bowling for 10 years and maintains a 182 average per game. During the 2007-08 season, Daniel has bowled 8 games with scores in excess of 200. Daniel uses a 15 pound, ‘Ebonite’ brand bowling ball that retails for about $100.

Currently, the Odessa Association of the USBC has 95 youth members, bowling in youth leagues at both Odessa Bowling Centers. Membership in these leagues is always open to young people, ages 8-21, who would like to experience the sport of bowling.
