YOUR COMMENTS:
>> analex: "the last I've heard deputies got their 12% raise its no what they were asking for but its a great start not only for the deputies working now but for any future officers.I bet they are grateful for everyones support. Some may not agree on this most needed raise but it will benefit for it will keep some of the officers from going to other high paying agencies."
>> rainbow517: "The 12% raise that was approved Tuesday morning for current deputies was good but could have been higher if the commissioners could have restrained themselves from giving each other another undeserved raise which could have gone towards these deserving deputies. The least they could have done was give these deputies the 3% cost of living increase approved for all county employees the day before. If you look at it this way, the deputies only got a 9% raise...maybe something to keep in mind during election time."
>> texasnanaof3: "Commissioners are over paid if you ask me! Give it to the deputies they are the ones that are out there protecting us not the commissioners, the deputies are the ones that put their lives on the line everyday lets pay them what they are worth."
>> oldknowitall: "Seems like the Commissioners are a lot more likely to give a across the board raise if there names are on the list of those getting a pay raise. Hell, they will even give the deputies 13% as long as their(the Commissioners) pay has nearly doubled in the last few years. Work output about the same, but they would get a lot more if they did nothing. Oh yea, they do nothing."
