OZONA Two people are dead after a three-vehicle accident at 7:58 p.m. Saturday on the eastbound lane of Interstate 10 at mile marker 385, 15.8 miles west of Sonora.
Michael Andrews Canales, 32, and O'nell Garcia, 6, of Corpus Christi, were declared dead at the scene, according to DPS reports.
Octavius Luna, 10, of Corpus Christi, is hospitalized in severe condition with third-degree burns.
According to the report, a 2006 Kenworth tractor-trailer, driven by Graziano Martinez of Mission County, collided with a 2000 Jeep Wrangler. The collision caused the Jeep to run into a rock embankment and burst into flames. The truck then collided with a U-haul trailer being pulled by a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu, causing the Malibu to jackknife, the report said.
After that, the truck then collided with the driver's side of the Malibu, resulting in the Kenworth's trailer catching fire, the report said.
