Deciding factor
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Some people sure know how to clear things up!
Before reading a recent letter in a Sunday paper, I was undecided on whom to vote for.
I don't consider myself either a Democrat or Republican. I vote for whom I think is the right person.
I voted for George H. Bush, then grew unsure and voted for Clinton ... twice!!!
I was leaning toward Obama this November.
But this nice woman from Gardendale (Doris Duncan) showed me the error of my ways.
This is the liberal way of thinking: The American worker should be an equal partner when working for a big, evil company?
Let's see ...
The "big company" buys or leases the building where the worker will be working. The company is responsible for the electricity, water, gas, taxes and all the equipment that may be needed. This evil company then is responsible for advertising, displays, etc.
It also has shipping expenses and, of course, wages of the employee.
Businesses then are expected to share whatever profits are made with the employee who has nothing invested in the entire operation other than working for probably six hours a day after all the breaks and goof-offs are counted in?
Don't think I'm some big executive at one of these evil companies. I spent eight years in the oilfields, then another 19 driving a truck. I now work in the transportation field as a dispatcher.
While I would love to be making more money, I, as an intelligent person, understand why the company I work for isn't splitting the profits with me.
This woman just earned John McCain my vote.
I almost forgot how the Democrats want everything while doing nothing to earn it.
Thanks for reminding me of why I will never again vote for a Democrat!
