F.M. 1788 closure

The southbound driving lane on F.M. 1788 north of Midland International Airport will be closed today.

A release issued by public information officer Glen Larum said the closure was made to allow electric utility crews to repair three power poles. The poles were damaged when an over-height load pulling into a trucking yard snagged overhead lines.

Electric lines have been cleared from roadway.  

Drivers are reminded to slow down in work zones and to watch for equipment moving close to the open southbound lane.
