Comments 0 | Recommend 0

The Ector County Hospital District Board of Directors is expected to vote on one of the biggest projects for fiscal year 2009 at its Tuesday meeting.

A positron emission tomography-computed tomography scanner is on the agenda for the meeting, which starts at 5:30 p.m. in Medical Center Hospital's boardroom. With renovations, the PET/CT scanner is expected to cost around $2.67 million.

Bill Webster, MCH chief executive officer, has called the equipment the "gold standard" in cancer diagnosis.

The board will also consider phase two of a bed replacement project. The first phase, which included three units, cost $1.56 million.

In other action, the board will consider:

>> Purchasing a 500-pound washer.

>> A Texas County and District Retirement System annual contribution rate authorization.

>> Revisions to the bylaws of the Permian Basin Healthcare Network.

>> An anesthesia services agreement between MCH Professional Care and Permian Basin Clinical Services.

>> An exclusivity agreement between the hospital district and Permian Basin Clinical Services.

>> ProCare employment contracts and service agreements.

>> Naming Robbin Herrington and Lila McPhetres employees of the month.
