FORT DAVIS Blakely Dawn Shampine and John N. Blackman V of Lakewood, Wash., were married Dec. 22, 2008, in the gazebo at the home of his grandparents, John and Margaret Blackman in Fort Davis with Ernie Vineyard officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Jerry and Geralyn Shampine of Bothell, Wash. She is a graduate of Blakely Seattle High School.

The groom is the son of John N. Blackman IV of Odessa and Gloria Blackman of Victoria.  He is a graduate of Permian High School. He is currently serving in the U.S. Army and is stationed in Fort Lewis, Wash.

Honor attendants were: Alex Herring, Joshua Blackman, Taylor Blackman and Lindsey Blackman.

The couple took their wedding trip in the Big Bend area. The couple lives in Lakewood, Wash.
