Homicide in Andrews

One man is dead and another is in custody following a shooting in Andrews.

According to a news release from the Andrews County Sheriff’s Office, authorities were called to a home at 960 SE FM-1601 on a shots fired report at 9:18 a.m. Thursday.

A man was found in the driveway of the residence and was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.

Deputies later arrested 52-year-old Bobby Odell Clark at another location and charged him with murder, the release said.

Clark lives near where the crime took place, but information on his relationship with the victim is not being released, Andrews County officer Cheryl Martin said.

Justice of the Peace Neri Flores has ordered an autopsy of the victim. The body was sent to the Dallas County Coroner’s Office.

Authorities are not releasing the identity of the victim pending positive identification and notification of family members.
