Cross country: Three district meets scheduled for Wednesday

District cross country meets continue around the Permian Basin today, including the District 3-3A Championships at Ward County Golf Course in Monahans.

The varsity girls are scheduled to run at 2 p.m. and the varsity boys will go at 3 p.m. with junior varsity races preceding each.

Monahans, Andrews, Seminole, Greenwood, Lamesa and Brownfield are competing in that meet.

Earlier today at Spring Creek Park in Mertzon, the District 1-1A Championships are scheduled. The varsity girls will run at 10:30 a.m. and the boys are scheduled to run at 11:30 a.m.

District 1-1A members for cross country are Christoval, Eldorado, Forsan, Fort Hancock, Iraan, Irion County, Marfa, McCamey, Stanton, Van Horn and Wink.

Also today, the District 2-1A Championships are taking place at Balmorhea State Park. The varsity girls are scheduled to run at 3 p.m., followed by the boys at 3:30 p.m.

The 2-1A meet will include Balmorhea, Buena Vista, Comstock, Dell City, Fort Davis, Grandfalls-Royalty, Marathon, Rankin, Sanderson, Sierra Blanca, Terlingua Big Bend and Valentine.
