Advance Cleaning
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Get ready for the autumn DUCT SEASON in West Texas
During the summer, we adjust our air conditioner without giving much thought to what's happening inside the system. But during the season of heavy use, dust sticks to the coils due to condensation that collects when the coils cool the air.
In cooler weather, those coils dry out and release that dust and other contaminants into the ducts and, eventually, into the air in your home.
These contaminants, such as mold, fungi, bacteria and very small particles of dust, are potential allergens that may affect health. Cleaning your heating and air conditioning system is one way to improve indoor air quality.
With cooler weather approaching, Advance Duct Cleaning owner Holman Padgett declares that fall is "duct season." This is the right time to have Advance Cleaning clean those ducts, before they receive another dusting when the heat comes on.
Advance Duct Cleaning has acquired the latest cleaning tools, which work more efficiently than ever before and take special care with flex ducting. These tools include compact brushes that further loosen dust found in ducts.
Clean ducts also let your HVAC system work more efficiently by removing debris from sensitive mechanical components. Air travels through those ducts more efficiently, lowering your energy costs by up to 20 percent. Clean, efficient systems are less likely to break down, have a longer life span, and generally operate more effectively than dirty systems.
Actually, a simple monthly procedure can also reduce dirt and its attendant problems.
"Regular filter changes can keep your coil and ducts cleaner," Holman says. "A dirty filter itself can make your blower work harder, running up your heating and cooling costs."
If you have dogs or cats, if you notice a "musty" smell when the air conditioner first comes on, if there are smokers in your building, if someone in your home or office continually suffers from allergies or asthma, your ducts probably need to be cleaned. If your HVAC system uses only standard fiberglass filters, it's probably letting a lot of dust through, even if changed regularly. More efficient ones are now readily available.
Remember, fall is duct season in West Texas, so call Advance Duct Cleaning and start breathing easier.
