Take full advantage of your email capacity
Odessa American Online
For years we have used email much as we once used the postal system. We send text to a receiver, and the receiver responds to it.
Email, of course, is a much faster system than the postal service, but many of us are not yet taking full advantage of email’s capacity. The real advantage of email is that it allows users to distribute messages to a large number of recipients instantly.
The Odessa American recently added two new features. One of these lets the news come to you, wherever you are. The other lets you get your message across to a specific customer base.
“Email is playing an increasingly important role in the future of advertising and media,” says Sean Maggio, Odessa American Interactive Manager. “Recently we began sending instant news updates to our readers who sign up for them on oaoa.com.”
The morning version of the news update includes weather forecasts, headlines and local events. The afternoon version adds news features, columns, opinions and world news. You can get the Friday football preview and view a recap Saturday morning.
“You can also sign up for text alerts sent directly to your mobile phone,” Sean says. “All of this is at no cost to you.”
A new advertising tool called Email Blasts refines email lists so that you can get your message to the people that need and want your product. The demographics search goes beyond names and addresses to target a very specific audience.
“Recently, we were able to help a local employer find exactly the specialized employees they were looking for,” says Coye Kerley, Advertising Sales Manager.
The Odessa American rents email lists so that the list is continuously updated. To learn more, talk to your OA marketing representative, or call Coye Kerley at (432) 333-7603.
