A 36-year-old Odessa woman was in jail Thursday after, court documents stated, she sexually touched a female relative living with her.
Jennifer A. Lopez, 1300 S. Lincoln Ave., was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree felony aggravated sexual assault of a child. Lopez was being held Thursday in the Ector County Detention Center awaiting bond.
Lopez’s arrest warrant affidavit stated that in August of 2011 a 16-year-old girl told her Odessa High School counselor that from the age of 6 to 11, she was "raped" by Lopez while they lived with a relative in Austin.
The girl was interviewed at Harmony Home in Odessa on Aug. 30, where she said when she was in first grade, Lopez touched and put her mouth on her breasts and touched her genitals, the affidavit stated. The girl said she also put her mouth on Lopez’s breasts and that Lopez told the girl to touch Lopez’s genitals, the affidavit stated.
The girl said she remembered that the last sexual assault happened when she was almost a 11 years old, the affidavit stated.
On Sept. 26, Lopez said during an interview at the Odessa Police Department that she did not remember sexually molesting the victim, but that she dreamt on two separate occasions that “she had done something,” the affidavit stated. Lopez said she “had a feeling that she did (molest the victim) because of the dreams,” the affidavit stated.
During an interview, another of Lopez’s adult female relatives said Lopez admitted to sexually touching the girl in September 2011, the affidavit stated. The relative also said Lopez and the girl lived with her in Austin between 2001 and 2002, and that two other female relatives heard Lopez say she sexually touched the girl, the affidavit stated.
The same relative also said the girl told her that Lopez sexually molested her over a four-year period, the affidavit stated.
