Senior web conferences

Free Home for the Holidays web conference for senior caregivers is being offered at 7 p.m. today.

The web conferences are moderated by a representative from the Home Instead Senior Care network, hosted by the American Society on Aging, and co-sponsored by the National Family Caregivers Association and the National Alliance for Caregiving.

Registration is required.



Jewelry and Accessory sale fundraiser

Medical Center Hospital has scheduled a Masquerade $5 Jewelry and Accessories Sale fundraiser benefiting the Children’s Miracle Network and MCH Auxiliary.

The sale will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the MCH Auditorium, 500 W. Fourth St.

Sneak Peeks

Sneak Peeks of the Medical Center Hospital Center for Women & Infants, due to the near completion of construction, have been scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays, Dec. 10, 17 and Jan. 7 and 14, 2012, at 500 W. Fourth St.

‘Say No To Dope’

The Seventh Day Adventist Church has scheduled a free interactive and informative family seminar, “Say No To Dope,” at 5 p.m. Saturday at the church, 201 E. 91st St.

Meningitis vaccinations for college students

The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile has scheduled several shot clinics for those students needing to get the meningitis vaccinations prior to registering at Odessa College.

The mobile will be on the OC campus from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 19-20 in the OC Sports Center parking lot.

Vaccinations also can be obtained from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 27-29 at the Family Health Clinic, 840 W. Clements St.

The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile will be available again the first week of January in the OC Sports Center parking lot. The fee for the vaccination at these locations will be $5.

Mommy Bee Contest

Medical Center Hospital Center for Women & Infants is conducting a Mommy Bee Contest.

Registration deadline is Saturday.

Semi-final will take place Jan. 7, 2012 and grand finale on Jan. 14.

This contest is designed to help women learn more about healthy pregnancies.

Participants will get to win prizes, including a beautiful crib as the grand prize.

OAWT sets Christmas luncheon, meeting

MIDLAND The Ostomy Association of West Texas has scheduled a meeting at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 15, 2012, at Midland Memorial Hospital, West Campus.

Donations welcomed for patient holiday project

BIG SPRING Big Spring State Hospital is currently taking donations for this year’s holiday project.

Contributions will go to toiletry items to board games to pajamas for the patients.
